CHOIR PROGRAM
CAMA offers three choir classes for students ranging in age 5 - 19: Melody & Harmony, Joyful Sound & Jubilee Singers.
Choir classes will be provided music and/or lyrics that must be returned at the end of the semester. There will be a music fee charge to replace any sheet music not returned.
Melody & Harmony
Melody & Harmony music class age range is 5 - 9 year olds.
These children love to sing and learn together. They prepare for In Harmony Beginning Band by learning the recorder, and for Joyful Sound as they learn to sing simple, two-part songs. Rhythm games are included to teach them simple music theory such as the staff, notes, and other things. Older CAMA students, known as Music Helpers, in the CAMA Leadership Program assist this class by sitting with the students and keep distractions to a minimum.
5-7 year old students, (Melody Makers) learn music theory and their songs, while the 8-9 year old students, (Happy Harmony) learn recorder and staff reading.
8-9 year old students need to have a recorder and recorder book. Both items can be purchased at CAMA's front desk. Recorders are made by Yamaha, and are $8 a piece. Recorder books used by CAMA are "Recorder Express" and can be bought from CAMA for $10.
All choirs perform without music, so students will be responsible for having their music memorized.

Joyful Sound
Joyful Sound Choir consists of 10 – 14 year olds.
These students are truly joyful and come each week full of energy. Students in Joyful Sound work on beginning choral elements and techniques, as well as learning to navigate their changing voices. The music in this class consists of fun choruses, as well as 2-3 part choral arrangements suited to their ages.
Joyful Sound is provided music that must be returned at the end of each Fall/Spring Session. There will be a music fee charge to replace any sheet music not returned.
Should a student neglect in bringing their music, a 25 cent rental fee will be charged to use a rented set of music that must be returned at the end of class. If a student loses their music/set of music, a $10 fee will be charged to replace the music.
All choirs perform without music, so students are responsible for having their music memorized.

Jubilee Singers
Jubilee Singers Choir consists of 15 – 19 year olds.
Students continue their musical development, with most of them coming from Joyful Sound Choir. The music in this class consists of 4 or more part choral pieces ranging from classical, traditional, and contemporary styles. Students also learn more about the basics of reading music and musicianship.
Students will be provided with music that must be returned at the end of each Fall/Spring Session. There will be a music fee charge to replace any sheet music not returned.
